GENERAL AUTOMOTIVE INFORMATION

Air Conditioning Repair & Service

The car air conditioning system works with the heating and ventilation system to provide the driver with cool, dry air for comfort. Modern technology requires that only certified individuals check out your AC system for the proper operation. Twin Automotive Repair can check your air conditioning system with properly trained mechanics. We will inspect for loose belts, leaks, AC operation, and if needed, recharge your system.

Antilock Brakes Repair & Service

w

Today, virtually all cars come with ABS as standard equipment or as an option. The typical ABS system includes wheel-speed sensors, a hydraulic control unit, and an electronic control unit. When turning the ignition switch to the on position, the amber BRAKE, ANTILOCK or ABS light on the instrument panel should glow momentarily, and then turn off. If the light stays on or flashes, or comes on while driving, it indicates a fault in the ABS system. Have your vehicle’s ABS system inspected immediately by a professionally trained technician to determine the source of the problem.

Drive Train Repair & Service

The drive train consists of those components that pass along or transmit power from the engine to the wheels. Whether you drive a rear-wheel, front-wheel, or all-wheel drive vehicle, the drive train system is complex and repairs to it can be expensive. However, the life of the drive train can be greatly extended by following the maintenance procedures from your owner’s manual and getting annual inspections from a trained technician.

Electrical Power Repair

From power windows to power sunroofs to power mirrors, many vehicle components are now electrically operated. When these components fail, problems can range from broken components to wiring failures. Before replacing expensive components, always have a certified technician test your system to determine the true cause of the problem.

Engine and Lubrication Systems Repair, Removal & Install

When you start your car, oil begins lubricating your engine. Numerous additives within the oil help it cool and reduce friction between internal moving parts. Oil also cleans away dirt and contaminants, preventing premature engine wear. Following the schedule in your owner’s manual will help keep your engine in good working order.

Exhaust System Repair

Proper maintenance of the exhaust and emissions systems is important for the environment, as well as your safety. These systems draw the waste products of combustion, hot exhaust gases, away from the engine and into the atmosphere.

Fuel System Repair

With today’s computerized engine controls and electronic fuel injection, it’s hard to separate the fuel system from other systems when it comes to identifying problems with your vehicle. Symptoms such as hard starting, stalling, hesitation, loss of power, poor fuel economy, rough idle, misfiring and elevated emissions can be caused by any number of things. So to keep your vehicle running smoothly, quietly and efficiently, you should have your fuel system inspected every year by a trained certified technician.

Heating and Cooling Systems Repair & Service

The engine's heating and cooling system is comprised of many different components that all must work correctly for the system to cool the engine properly. Any one component that fails can affect the entire system, consequently causing an engine overheating condition. Cooling system failure is the number one reason for automotive breakdown on our nation's highways. Unlike a flat tire, you can't stop and put on a spare. A failure of the engine cooling system will mean a trip to the repair shop behind a tow truck, which is why it is important that you have periodic inspections and regular maintenance of the cooling system. At Twin Automotive Repair, we have certified technicians who will perform a professional inspection of the system, providing you with a complete analysis of the current conditions and the estimated cost of repair.

Ignition System Repair

Your ignition system not only aids in getting the vehicle going, but helps ensure that it runs smoothly. In the ignition system, spark plugs must fire properly to assure engine performance and emission control. New plugs should be installed at the specified mileage. The entire set should be replaced if there is any malfunction due to a faulty spark plug. Check the specification section of your owner’s manual for the proper type of spark plugs for your vehicle. Spark plug wires should also be inspected for evidence of cuts, cracks, splits and corrosion.

Starting and Charging Systems Repair

Starting your vehicle begins with a spark from the battery and ends at the spark plug. In between the two are numerous components that make up your vehicle’s starting and charging system. Before replacing a battery, have a trained technician inspect all starting and charging components. One of these components may be the real culprit when the vehicle won’t start.

Steering and Suspension Systems Repair

The steering and suspension systems have the important job of controlling where your car goes and how it rides. The steering and suspension systems of a car are not only important for safety reasons, but also enhance the comfort level of the vehicle. The two systems are directly related to each other, which is why they are always referred to together. You should have the suspension and steering components of your vehicle inspected and adjusted according to the manufacturer’s recommended intervals. The components wear with use and stretch with age. Proper inspection and adjustment will extend their life by many thousands of miles.

Transmission System Repair & Service

No matter how smooth your engine or new your tires, nothing happens if the transmission doesn’t work. We can provide you with full service and repair of your vehicle's transmission, including its system's fluid, filter, and accessories.
